When we started fly boxes looked like this.

Back in 1860 when our founder started in business a fly box looked like this

It comprised of a cardboard box which had been covered in leather and had cork inserts. The box would have been fine until you dropped it in the river or you put one too many wet flies into it for storage. This one has joined our reference collection as an example of the type of thing that Richard Wheatley would have been making.
